The Lord Mountbatten Review
70 Mill Street, Congleton, Cheshire.
Tel: Review by Webmaster Date: 13th November 2009
This pub has just reopened within the last fortnight. It has in my opinion done the right thing by dumping the “Three Arrows” name and opting for a new title. The old name had become synonymous with a pub that sold sub standard ale and was a little on the grubby side.
NOW This was a review of the Three Arrows and not the new Lord Mountbatten Review by Webmaster Date: 22th May 2003
The Three Arrows is a medium sized pub that is under new management. Because the pub has changed hands quite frequently in the past few years there has not been much money spent on the premises. This is evident by the general state and appearance of the pub. On my last two visits to the pub I have attempted to drink the only cask ale on offer and on both occasions I have struggled to drink it due to the taste and smell. This was even more evident by the fact that the majority of the customers "on my last visit" were drinking bottled beer. Even the lager drinkers were drinking a very cheap bottled lager. There is a juke box, TV, Pool Table and one armed bandit. The customers are of all ages from the alco-pop youngsters to the seasoned drinkers of the town. WAS Minus rTranslate this page |
